Meeting minutes of September 29, 2009
Held at Kenton Co. Game & Fish

1. A moment of silence was held for William Case, deceased member of Campbell County Game & Fish.

2. Meeting called to order by Vice President Oral Jones, in the absence of President Peaches Decker, with Pledge of Allegiance and thank you to Kenton County Game & Fish for hosting the meeting.

3. KDFWR guests Tim Slone and Katie Emme were introduced and spoke on the following:
* 12 recruits for Law Enforcement, 10 more to follow pending interviews.
* Update on Breathitt Co. Youth Elk Hunt - 4 of 5 youths successful.
* Update on Lake Cumberland, concerns of temperature/oxygen levels affecting trout.

4. Roll call of Clubs and sign-up sheets showed 14 clubs present.

5. Minutes of previous meeting were accepted as read.

6. Norm Decker's Treasury Report was accepted as read.

7. Commissioner Dr. James Rich reported on slot & size limits on rainbow and brown trout on Cumberland River waters.

8. KDFWR Captain Bobby Newman reported on the following:

*Charlie Phillips and Mick Craig promoted to Sergeant in 5th Dist.
*Dove harvest down, baiting problems less than in recent years.
*Archery season picking up. Spotlighting problems in Harrison Co.,
several poaching incidents elsewhere.

9. NRA Rep. Carl Schnitzler reported numerous raffle prizes from NRA and appealed to members & sportsmen to buy tickets.

11. Alice Rini reported on upcoming NRA dinner.

12. Nomination of officers committee - reported need for someone to accept nomination for positions of Secretary and President.

13. Webmaster John Price requested a list of hunters available for deer control problems to be added to website and requested monthly meeting minutes to be send for inclusion on website.

14. Under good of the Federation, Norm Decker commented on lack of "thank-you" responses from Camp Webb Scholarship recipients. Tim Slone of KDFWR responded by saying the Department accepts partial responsibility for this and will address this in the future.

15. Meeting was adjourned by Vice President Oral Jones
